Healthy Habits of a Triathlete #4: CONSISTENCY
Consistency: steadfast adherence to the same principles, course, form, etc.
The more often we do something, the more likely we are to continue doing it... Isn't that how a HABIT is formed!?
Consistency delivers results, allows us to do less and achieve more, and reduces the incidence of injury. Successful athletes become successful by being consistent with their training.
How to become consistent:
1 - a well designed training plan: a proper mix of intensity and recovery specific to the athlete
2 - training time: schedule time for your workouts, don't just fit them in haphazardly. Key word: routine
3 - don't look at your workouts as a chore; remember why you started
4 - get a coach or training partner; a coach will design a custom plan specific to your needs and hold you accountable
5 - LOG your workouts
6 - include your R&R
Being consistent with your plan will help you reach your goals in a safe, HEALTHY way.
