Triathlon is such an individual sport. There's no be-all, end-all for everyone. With this in mind, there are healthy habits that triathletes (ANY athletes) can possess to reach peak performance (both mentally and physically!). For the next few days, we are going to send you our top healthy habits of a triathlete and how to achieve them.

Welcome to our HEALTHY HABITS of a TRIATHLETE Series!!!

In our minds, in triathlon, there's one word that sticks out above all others: DETERMINATION.

Determination: a quality that makes you continue trying to do or achieve something that is difficult.

Before any other habit can evolve, you have to have determination.

How do you get in the habit of being determined? Well, by definition, you continue TRI'ing even when it becomes difficult. When you do that over and over and over, it becomes a habit... confidence emerges, intestinal fortitude surfaces, persistence arises, hesitation is abandoned, quitting becomes a LAST RESORT.

Here's a few more ways to get in the habit of being determined:
1 - Draw inspiration from others.
2 - Don't just think about it, ACT!
3 - Exercise your will. Just like with your performance, PRACTICE; the more you use it, the stronger it will become.
4 - Remember why you started and imagine your end goal.
5 - Pull your inner bad ass out. Come on, we all have one!!
6 - DON'T give up.

If you live by the key principles of determination...you have already reached success.
