If You Never Tri, You'll Never Know!

12 Weeks to Ironman Arizona

Monday, August 18, 2014: not the best training day. A quick trip to see the best doc in town, Dr. Kerby for a peculiar rash that I can't seem to shake. I know, it sounds gross, but I guess as a triathlete, it's something we gotta deal with. So anyway, got a swim in with my friend Brian. The first half to boost his confidence, the second half for personal improvement. I'll tell you what, I had one heck of a day though. You can read more about it here ~because it deserved it's own space in the world. Finally just picked up Jake and went to play on the beach!

jake day

Tuesday, August 19, 2014: I'm one of those 2 birds, 1 stone kinda gals... so today, needing to get some work done in Ocean Springs, packed my car up to get a change of scenery for training. I rode for 60 minutes hitting 19 miles and ran 30 minutes for 3 miles. Nice and hot and beautiful! I also finally got my chicken sandwich! And had a great catch up conversation with an old friend <3

OS training

Wednesday, August 20, 2014: to the SEABEE Base for some pool time today! 3000 meters and one SUPER tough swim workout with push ups... I am kinda pissed about not being a mermaid. But legs are cool. I guess...

Thursday, August 21, 2014: ran 16 miles today with my friend Emily training for her first marathon. She was a little concerned with getting through it on her own. No worries, I'll come knock it out with you. Well, we BOTH knocked out the first 10... we started at 0545 so it was cooler. I don't know WHAT happened the last hour... temps increased by about 6500 degrees. No kidding! Water was evaporating out of my bottle, I don't know! I couldn't drink enough!? Emily was feeling the same. But we weren't scared! We refilled and carried on. 16 miles in the BAG! Spent the next few hours with my favorite peeps at Run-N-Tri, a little time at the lake with Jake and friends, and then a fun night with my sweet friend for sweet potatoes, turkey sausage, and The Nut Job (cute movie - Netflix, check it out!!). #lifeisgood

Friday, August 22, 2014: took a complimentary day off. But worked at Run-N-Tri anyway. With hours of 10-6, I get confused when to workout. I know that sounds silly to most... but pre work and I'm sleepy, hungry, and ahhh all day... after work and Jake gets hungry, stir crazy, and ahhh all day... It's a win lose. So work days are often best served as rest days. The craziest part of my day was the FB post (I refuse to do an ice bucket challenge for ALS and I kinda took some heat for it **shrug**). The BEST part of my day...my sweet sweet friend had dinner cooked for me and loved on Jake.

Saturday, August 23, 2014: a nice long bike with some of my best friends... 56 miles in 3 hours. Luke, David, Jack, Jon, Brian, Sam and new friends Wesley and Bethany. A fantastically hot beautiful ride!! Followed by a 10 minute run brick and the splash pad. For the rest of my day, check out yesterday's post HERE. The video alone is worth the watch!

Sunday, August 24, 2014: finished the week off strong with a 1.65 mile swim at Robinwood. Don't worry friends, I had my kayak sherpa next to me the whole time... RW was like swimming in jello today! Super thick and just HOT and full of muck. But it always feels good to get it done. I'm thinking sushi for dinner.............

Another week in the books!!
#8 Ironman is already planned but secret part 1: I signed up for #7 today ;)
