Located on the SoCo strip in Austin, Texas, HopDoddy Burger Bar offers fresh, all-natural, hand-cut, made from scratch, and baked fresh. The first thing you notice walking into this hip burger bar is the long line. Don't let that scare you away though! There's always a line and I promise, it's worth the wait! (obviously as their name announces) HopDoddy is famous for its burgers. And quite a list of burgers they have! From classic, to Tex-Mex, to Greek - they have a burger for your taste buds.

Burgers don't have to be MEAT! Our taste buds wanted to try something different...

So while I'm usually a lover of da' meat, today I went vegetarian style: la Bandita (a Black Bean-Corn Patty, Avocado, Goat Cheese, Arugula, Cilantro Pesto, Chipotle Mayo on Whole Wheat). Wow! This burger was delicious! It does fall apart so about 1/4 way through, I pulled the bun off and just ate it with a fork. Serious flavor. I want to say it was probably the best black bean burger I've ever had. And that's with a recent delicious find in Alabama. Everything tasted fresh and clean <--if that makes sense?

Trish had the Ahi Tuna Burger (Sushi-Grade Tuna, Sprouts, Teriyaki, Honey Wasabi, Nori Chips, Pickled Ginger, Mayo). She enjoyed the burger but didn't care for the wasabi. That stuff is a love it or hate it situation anyway.

It cost about $28 for our lunch. A little pricey for lunch but we did order two of the more expensive burgers on the menu. I'm big on food being delicious, fresh, and clean (I know, clean sounds strange, but if you get it, you understand)... but I'm also big on social responsibility. I feel like HopDoddy has this in the bag. They are very environmentally aware. "Good karma never tasted so good." ~a motto they stand behind. They support their local agricultural economy, compost and recycle waste, and even use materials that are environmentally safe and recyclable ~down to their retro style green chairs made by Emeco from recycled aluminum and plastic. They also support local charities. BIG HEARTS from this girl!

Supporting their community AND providing delicious food, I was all in and will definitely visit their establishment again (Austin, Dallas, Addison, Scottsdale, AZ, and Denver, CO)! I really want to try their shakes, truffle fries, and pretty much every single one of their burgers...
Another Austin MUST VISIT!!
