Do y'all ever do these?
I see them on Facebook all the time and yeah, I look, see my three. Usually smile. And scroll on.

But thanks to my 7 Days of Writing for Me I challenged myself to "Three Things You Want in a Relationship".

Ironically, these are it! Or maybe I will forcefully make them my 3...
Love
Friend(ship)
Intelligence
At second glance I grabbed honesty and happiness. Yeah, those work too...

First off, let's clarify "relationship". I don't necessarily mean a romantic relationship. I mean relationships in general. Lover, friend, family, heck, even a stranger. Every time you meet someone, a new relationship is formed. It might be temporary or everlasting. Whatever, there are still several "things" I want in that relationship.

First, LOVE:
I'm a sucker for love. Not just "in love" deep romantic stuff, just love. I'm a lover. I probably overuse the emotion; I get excited, I love you! I love things. And places. And people. And feelings. And stuff. I love. I love deep and I love LOUD! I wear love on my sleeve so yeah, I'm easily hurt too. It's okay though! I'll sacrifice a lil pain to love you more. So you know, when I meet you, there is probably INSTANTLY some sort of love. I love your eyes, maybe your laugh, your cute shoes, your personality... love is formed. If no love exists, no relationship is formed.

Next, FRIENDSHIP:
I used to joke in my Couch to 5k groups that they weren't just getting a coach, they were getting a friend for life. Only, I wasn't joking. I'm quick and easy to make friends. I don't find many reasons NOT to be someones friend (until or if that bond is broken ~then out goes the friendship and the relationship). Friendship allows for honesty, altruism, mutual understanding and compassion. We have to be able to be ourselves and trust each other without fear of being judged (or misunderstood). So friendship is a must.

Finally, INTELLIGENCE:
I mean, I don't think The Big Bang Theory kind of intelligence is necessary, but we have to be able to converse about something. SOMETHING. If I get an empty stare and I know behind it lies an empty brain, no relationship. Because what then is the point? We have to be able to chat and relate. More than that though, intelligence is defined as one's capacity for logic, abstract thought, understanding, self-awareness, communication, learning, emotional knowledge, memory, planning, creativity and problem solving. This is important stuff to be able to form and maintain a relationship with someone.

There you have it friends! Three things I want in a relationship. If we have these between us, we are set :)

After a second review, I think I need to add, honesty, compassion, respect, and integrity. Yeah, all that's important in a relationship too.
