We aren't all fun & triathlon... We are deeply committed to giving back to the world and working hard for social change.

Destined to make a difference, we are embarking on a two week journey geared towards raising awareness for domestic violence. It is our mission to empower the victims of domestic violence back to a healthy, fit, and FREE life again! The power of good health and fitness is undeniable.

Our trip will be taking place July. With stops scheduled in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Washington D.C., Portsmouth, Virginia, Wilmington, North Carolina, South Carolina, St. Augustine, Miami, Key West, Clearwater, and Tallahasee, Florida, Mobile, Alabama, and back to Mississippi, we will visit 12 domestic violence centers and women's shelters. Having reached out, our hosts are excited and already planning events, health & fitness seminars, and running & tri clinics for us to offer. Additionally, we will be collecting items that each shelter needs to drop off for them. On top of all this, we are contacting the local running, tri, and/or bike shops in each city and linking them up with the shelters to offer similar services or host fundraisers.

Departure date July 14 and returning July 28. Leaving from Gulfport, MS.

We have met with the Gulf Coast Women's Center for Nonviolence for some very valuable information and guidance and we've gained very valuable tools from NO MORE (a national campaign galvanizing awareness and action end to domestic violence). More to come on both of these relationships...

On any given day, horrifying news stories about domestic violence appear across the news. We cannot turn away. We must journey to help the victims of domestic violence. We must show our support by giving them courage, confidence, and hope for a safer, HEALTHIER future.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:

We are asking our local friends to donate items for the shelters. Crossfit 228 in Gulfport is a drop off point. More drop off points will be announced soon. You can also message us directly for a pick up. Avis has so graciously donated the use of a large van for our trip so we are able to pack it full of goodies.

The shelters are in need of the following items:
Money contributions in any amount
Clothes (not trash, GOOD clothes)
Toilet paper and personal hygiene products (real stuff, stuff you'd use)
Cleaning products (laundry detergent, dish soap, all purpose cleaner, etc)
Blankets and sheets
Diapers
Nonperishable food items (not from the back of your pantry, food you'd serve your family)
Gift cards (Target, Walmart, Gas, Grocery)
Misc like lightbulbs, batteries, stamps, pen & pencils
We will be delivering items to each shelter (divvied up by the needs of each shelter)
