If You Never Tri, You'll Never Know!

Your Will And Henry Ford

I was going to talk about traveling for triathlons today but I want to hit on something a little deeper instead. Your will to succeed.

Have you ever heard, "Whether you think you can, or you think you can't --- you're right"?
Well Henry Ford said that; you know, the guy that made the automobile affordable... He's kind of a big deal and I'd say with that quote alone ^^^ a genius!

Will: strong internal determination and self-control to do something difficult.

I've heard before, "you must have the will power of a God!" No, no I don't! You don't need the will power of a God to succeed. All you need is a commitment to yourself that you CAN. When you fully commit to your goals, giving in to obstacles is simply out of the question.
(p.s. "Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals." Henry Ford said that too.)

I think one of the smartest things you can do to reach your goals is surround yourself with people with similar goals. "Your circle of influence is very powerful and compelling." If your goal is to lose weight, you don't want to be around people who aren't interested, eat unhealthy, or don't support you. Remember, very few people have YOUR best interest at heart. You need people who will support you  and encourage you and make small changes themselves in order to help you succeed.

Are you going to have setbacks? Of course. Are you going to doubt yourself at times? Of course! This is all natural, we are human! "Failure is simply an opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently." That Henry Ford was full of wisdom!! So dust yourself off and get back to work.

I could rattle on all day about what to do and not to do to strengthen your will. But the bottom line is (see quote above!!!). If you think you can, you will. If you think you can't, you won't.
And I (nor did Henry Ford) care who you are, "There is no man living who isn't capable of doing more than he thinks he can do."
