If You Never Tri, You'll Never Know!

Sunfish Triathlon

Coming off of an Ironman to a sprint triathlon seems like it would be a cake walk, right? Well hopefully it is! But I have a feeling I'm going to find myself more tired than I think I am! I can't help but feel completely lazy and sloth like right now... I know, you're gonna be all like, LISA, you did an Ironman A WEEK ago!! REST! Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm resting. I'm a tri coach, I know the drill...doesn't mean I don't feel lazy and sloth like! I'm used to putting HOURS of tri in a day and I've done nothing. No seriously, NOTHING (okay I mowed my yard. And swam 400 yards) in the last week.

So I have been debating about Sunfish Tri (which is a sprint tri in Meridian, MS this Saturday). It's one of my favorite races. Quick, a little hilly, and HOT. I love it hot! I know, add it to my CrAzY list ;) I finally decided oh heck, I'm gonna do it and see what I got. Last year I placed 1st in my age group with a 1 hour and 34 minutes. I'm shooting to break 1 hour and 30 minutes. Don't hold me to that though, I might HURT :/

What I'm more excited about is all my teammates and my new triathlete friends who are going to be out there. A lot of our club triathletes race Sunfish Tri and being that I've been gone for weeks and haven't seen many of their beautiful faces, I'm so thrilled to race with them! AND...there are so many NEW triathletes and up and coming triathletes that are also racing Sunfish. Watching this sport grow is thrilling to me. I love watching the satisfaction, the PRIDE of athletes accomplishing such a huge goal. Triathlons aren't easy ya know! We gotta SWIM and then BIKE and then RUN! We don't stop in between! It's high pressure, move, Move, MOVE your booty! So, I'm pretty pumped for a smaller race where I actually get to see everyone and cheer and scream and smile and wave and be a part of an amazing community.

That's it! I just wanted to talk about one of my favorite triathlons and how excited I am to race it for the 4th year in a row! Good luck to everyone racing and hey, if you want to come for the fun, REGISTER!!
