I. Can't. Even.
The day, night, more of the night, and morning that "I CAN'T EVEN" won...
First of all, great shirt, RIGHT!? Amanda saw this and it wasn't even a question of whether or not it would be mine.
Low and behold, it became necessary for the adventure at hand...
I already needed a night away with friends so it was planned, happening ~ New Orleans for the Crescent City Classic 10k. But after being called old (I can't even *facepalm), I NEEDED a night away with friends.
So, we packed up and headed over to NOLA for the day/night.
First stop, the levee for some cycling.
Here Amber, here's my road bike that we have no idea if it's going to fit you or not with my triathlon shoes that lock you in on the bike that you've never used before, Amanda's helmet, and... you have cycling shorts, right? gloves for your first fall (cause I knew it was coming), a quick gear changing lesson, and LET'S GO! We started out nice and easy and got Amber acquainted with Madonna (that's my road bike). It actually fit her quite nicely. She picked up on the clipping in and out quickly too. Except for that one time ~ doh ~ and then that second time ~ LOL! it's so hard not to laugh.
Two falls with only a bruised ego and two hours later we were done. We got in some windy miles and headed to WayFare for lunch...
Instead of an entire review, I'll sum it up here. Food was pretty good but moved through the body quick if ya know what I mean! Service was adequate. Unique menu items but way over priced. The place is loud. I would probably not eat there again.
We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn New Orleans. Besides the valet guys complimenting our bicycles a bit too much, we really had great customer service. Seriously, they were all, WOW, these are great bikes, no, yeah, they're really nice bikes, hey man, you see these bikes, these bikes are seriously nice bikes, they must have cost some money, are you checking out these bikes, we need to get us some of these bikes. Uhhhhmmmm... So what you're saying is, you're going to steal our bikes as soon as we turn away!? I can't even! We rush the bikes upstairs (another whole adventure ~ imagine 3 sweaty girls with bags, bikes, and food pushing through our guts in one elevator)... we shit shower shave, and head to packet pick up for Crescent City Classic 10k. Read our full race review HERE!
Back to the hotel, we have 2 hours before dinner with my blogger friends.
If "mood" had to be put on a scale where 1 is the grumpiest and 10 is the happiest, Amanda was a 0 and Amber was an 11. I was somewhere around 5. We needed an attitude adjustment for Amanda STAT!! This is where we friend April the bartender. The next two hours were filled with Red Bull, Vodka, Blue Moon, Wine, free chocolate, and LAUGHS! I think we all walked away 10's for sure. Ha!!
Dinner was back at the expo ~ a restaurant in the hotel. The food was mediocre but the company was solid. I love meeting online friends in real life and I love group pictures ;)
Thank you again to Larisa for putting together an awesome team of bloggers for CCC 10k and all the perks that come along with!
And now, we go OUT...
If you followed along on SnapChat you know that we started at Cat's Meow ~ KARAOKE! Aw, yes, karaoke, where you can squawk like a crow but as long as it's a good ass song, the place will be rocking! There's so many things I love about New Orleans but the people...ohhhh the people you'll meet on Bourbon Street! From the Weeknd wannabe stripping to the chick bellowing out the hi de hi de ho song... to US...
And then there was us. I felt like we had a good crowd for some Shania Twain, Any Man of Mine. Pretty solid performance *high fives*
An impressive amount of booze went down that night on Bourbon Street and we wrapped it all up with some dancing at The Beach.
How we got up and ran a 10k is truly beyond me, but we did!
And again, you can read our race recap HERE!
I am also proud to report that none of my friends body parts were broken during this adventure
*eye roll* I can't even!!!!
Detox begins NOW.
