If You Never Tri, You'll Never Know!

Week 12/20 Ironman Kona

Untitled

Monday, August 12, 2019 - to Piqua Y for a swim (I'm not going to fail my swims this week!!) (and, the Troy Y pool is closed). Decided to just go for it today: 4,000 meters (2.5 miles). I love meter pools so much more than yard pools. Felt good and strong; happy with this swim and what I might be able to swim in Kona. Back home for grandma sitting and work. And all the work! Later a few errands and long walk with Cheryl and Jake.

Tuesday, August 13 - it's raining this morning. I have a bike with brick run on the schedule but I've just texted with Cheryl and she said to wait for her and we can hit it this afternoon. I'm not a huge fan of "waiting", I always fear the waiting turns to not doing but I know Cheryl will push the "let's go!"
I worked all day, played with Grandma, and even worked out on the farm for a bit. Alas around 5pm, Cheryl said "Let's Go!!" and we did!! 1 hour on the bike with some sprint intervals + a brick run.

Wednesday, August 14 - something weird happened this morning. I walked to the car with all my swim things and/but felt...weird. Not dizzy like spin dizzy, but dizzy. Lightheaded? Heavy? I don't know, just weird. Thought maybe I got up and walked out to fast... So I started driving and/but it got worse! I immediately felt like, I need to pull over! I busted a U'y and came straight back. WTF!? I sat in the car for a few minutes mostly because I was too -whatever- to get out. I finally made my way back to my bed and laid down until it passed. What on earth!? I might call today a rest day!

^ that cleared up after a little bit. So weird. Spent the morning visiting w/Jen and a few of her kids then on with a day. I took Grandma to meet her girlfriends for lunch (a monthly tradition) and then later, to the fair for the Veteran's Ceremony with Cheryl. I did end up calling today a

Thursday, August 15 - up early to Piqua for a 2,400m swim. Have I mentioned how much I prefer meter pools? Did: 500 pull, 5 x 100 fast, 400 pull, 4 x 100 fast, 300 pull, 3 x 100 fast - and called it good! (ran out of time, had to be back by 9am pills!!). Worked the rest of the day + normal daily tasks w/the grandma. Finished my day with a pedicure and family dinner. Preparing for a long bike tomorrow...

Friday, August 16 - up early to bike my 80 miles. Delayed one hour due to fog but made it out with Cheryl and Mom. Around 60, mom finished and Cheryl and I finished it up fast. 82.4 for the day and look ^ we made an old woman yelling with a bun. HAHAHA!! Ran a quick 1 mile brick after.
BIKE 82.4 miles + RUN 1 mile

Saturday, August 17 - today was originally a rest day and then I decided to go swim with mom. Guys, I was SO tired. I called it a day at 1,000m. Always go for quality over quantity! I spent the better part of 3 hours mowing the farm (big tractor life) - check out my Strava upload from the mow ^ AHAHAHAHA - and then to Columbus for David's bridal shower.
SWIM 1,000m + 3 hours of mowing

Sunday, August 18 - out for a run this morning before a day at the pool w/Bernie. I mean grandma!!! And by a day I mean 1 hour. Major house cleaning and family breakfast for dinner to follow. But that 5 mile run felt great!! I'm already excited for my 16 miler next weekend!!

Weekly Totals:

Bike - 98 miles
Run - 8 miles
Next week is going to be even bigger and hopefully better (as in stronger!!). I'm all in team! I'm ALL IN. I want to get to Kona, get it done, and get back to life with my love. So many big things to follow <3
