If You Never Tri, You'll Never Know!

Another Week #accountability Week 12

I'm ready for another week... 12 weeks to Ironman France. Wednesday I got a call that they upgraded my 1 bedroom rental apartment to a 2 bedroom - what a relief!! Mom and Bob, my niece, and hopefully Luca will all join me. I say hopefully because he's jam packed w/flights through July and August. Oh btw, in case you missed it, he's away right now (training). So I've been obviously packing my days full of anything I can to make the time go quick.

I started back up with language class this week too. I'm always asked, do you speak Italian now? The answer from your point of view, YES. From my point of view, KINDA. From an Italian's point of view, NO! Ha ha ha!! That's not true. I'm getting better. I can get what I need; mostly speaking like a 2 or 3 year old. But the class is primarily listening and it's 100% Italian. Listening is the hardest for me; Italians speak so fast. And the grammar. But honestly, I'm getting it and I'm not stressed out about it anymore. Luca and I have our dynamic - Itali-anglish -and if you came to visit I would probably impress your socks off ;) If I can give ANY advice to parents - *make* your children learn another language, and do it when they're young. Spanish, French, and Italian are all similar and once they learn one, others will come easier. You know what's not easy? Only knowing English my whole life and learning Italian in my late 30's.

So, on with the show...

Monday, June 4, 2018 - up early to run (3.5 miles) and swim (1,800 meters).
Weird day. From sunny to rainy to sunny. Was very fitting for my mood of the day though.
Down 2 pounds to start this week. I'm getting it moving!! Aiming for 10.

Tuesday, June 5, 2018 - 1 hour on the trainer. I know!! I said I'd do these rides outside and I just haven't. If I told you the traffic terrifies me, would you cut me some slack!? The traffic totally terrifies me!!! I have no idea where the rest of the day went... working !? I don't even know... But I did go to language class!!

Wednesday, June 6, 2018 - ^ basically my day in photos. Quick (healthy) breakfast w/some work and coffee, language class, 2700m swim, 5 mile run in Marina di Carrara, more work, meeting, more work. Done day. Oh, picked up my first post card today too!!! *dance dance*
Finished my evening w/a walk at the tenuta w/Jake, a light dinner, and a white wine.

Thursday, June 7, 2018 - another hour on the trainer - sweat session!! 2 hours of Italian today, quick stroll through the market, and cocktail hour w/Danielle began. Jake and I actually stayed over at her place having pizza and watching movies (slumber party!!).

Friday, June 8, 2018 - rest day WAS Saturday and today was a run but I swapped it because I came home to ^ this mess. I couldn't let it be, I had a repair idea, and it took over. I'm glad because it turned into this:

I later painted some colorful flowers on the box. And of course, I plan to fill the bottom with some lovely plants! I just want ALL the plants and flowers surrounding my oasis!!

Saturday, June 9, 2018 - 45min run this morning. Got caught in the rain so I'm thinking a double run (this afternoon) w/Jake. I wasn't scheduled to run more than an hour anyway. I'm shooting for quality over quantity anyway. My knee is feeling good and fine and I don't want to risk injury.
RUN

Sunday, June 10, 2018 - 4 hour bike - 63 miles. I had a horrible horrible night of sleep so instead of rising at my 5am alarm to get out there and beat traffic, I slept until nearly 8. That means that by 10am, traffic was atrocious. I just want a ride where I don't feel like I'm going to die. Ugh. Be positive...at least I can get out and bike. 2 mountain climbs and the rest flat. Housal duties and athletes the rest of the day.

Weekly Totals
Swim x 2 x 4500m
Bike x 3 x 95 miles
Run x 3 x 9 miles

I missed a swim in there, remember, I wanted to get 3 sessions of each discipline this week. I'm not mad though! I'm okay with it because my swims were super decent. I think I'm actually going to stick with 2 swims a week. I'm right on par in my Ironman France training and feeling okay. I'd really like to get 10 pounds off but I'm not going to kill myself trying to get there.

Okay... 11 weeks to Ironman France!
