(quarantine) Accountability Week with a Virtual Race at the End
Monday, March 30, 2020: Luca went back to work this morning. Boo. The good news is he's off by 2pm. Military - essential. So it's back to quiet mornings, solo lunch, and waiting for him to get home if we want to train together... It's okay! I'm okay! It makes life feel more normal like this. Plus I have the hammock stand and I can be super lazy if I want to be ;) Instead, I went for a 4 mile run (back and forth back and forth). Later I wanted to do T25 w/Luca but I had a terrible headache.
RUN 4 miles
Tuesday, March 31, 2020: 45mins on the KickR + 10min brick run (but w/Jake who has to pee every 10 feet)... Worked all day into the night (Luca had a night flight). Taught Jake the OhNaNaNa challenge - LOL!! He got sick of giving fives and I cut him some slack ;)
BIKE 45mins + RUN 10mins
Wednesday, April 1, 2020: was up until 2am waiting for Luca and he was up and leaving for work by 7am. So I slept in pretty late. A quick lunch 2 mile run w/calisthenics (every .25 miles do 1 minute of 1 of the following: jj's, squats, lunges, pushup, standing crunch, shoulder work). Was alright. Later I did 30mins of body work. Made a bomb ass dinner - stuffed shells.
RUN 2 miles + Calisthenics + BW
Thursday, April 2, 2020 - super snowball of worry this morning - no joke. This virus, cancer, diabetes, babies, family, death, what am I doing on earth - the whole nine yards! And all before 9am.
So I got on the trainer for 30mins sweet spot session + 20mins w/sprint intervals.
Today I started painting my tile (I have this giant slab of 4 tiles that my neighbor gave me - and I'm painting a ceramic/mandala type picture on it). Luca is on overnight duty.
Friday, April 3, 2020 - Today marks 2 years since my brother died. Sigh...
Tonight we start the first Ironman Virtual Race with a 5k. We can't begin before 8pm though...
It was still light when we started but dark by the finish.
RUN 5k - 3.1 miles (race)
Saturday, April 4, 2020 - 56 mile bike ride on the KickR and after uploading to the IMVR, it didn't even count. I'll be PISSED if they don't fix this!! Had a great trainer ride - kept a sweet average (considering on trainer)... And the time passed fairly quickly. Luca instead ran the half marathon that way he can use the KickR tomorrow while I do the run. Wish us luck!!
Later, shrimp and polenta and chocolate drizzled pears (HA HA HA, nailed it!)
BIKE 2hr45min for 56 miles (race)
Sunday, April 5, 2020 - I'm really excited about today and a bit anxious... 13.1 miles to finish the Ironman Virtual Race and I have only our driveway to run. I figured 34 "loops". A loop is from my gate to the road, back, a short stretch alongside my house, and back to the gate. It's about 600 meters round trip. Back and forth, back and forth. Back. And. Forth. It's tough for even a 5k. The most I've done is 10 laps for 4.25 miles. I'll do a little race report, but the conclusion is, I did it!
Meanwhile, Luca completed the bike portion on the KickR. I had my "rest stop" set up along the window so I could catch a peep for motivation... ;)
RUN 13.1 miles (race)
