Ohio, The Heart of America #accountability

Mon Feb 19, 2018 - TRAVEL! And I say that with a grimace. Travel from yesterday led deep into today and has (had) me all flustered. We arrived late last night. Late as in for real late and 2 hours later than expected so I missed my connecting flight in Newark. They rebooked me for today but it meant a hotel for the night. I was in the Newark airport from 8:15pm until midnight. Not kidding! From customs to the transfer to waiting in line w/Lufthansa for a hotel (nearly half the plane also missed their flight). It was the WORST. We were HUNGRY, TIRED, and DONE!

But alas, we arrived Monday at noon. David (my bestest ever!!!) scooped me up and got me where I needed to go. Later, cousins delivered the RV where I'll be staying for my time in Ohio. And sleep hit early. No training. It's so hard to be okay with that.

Tues Feb 20, 2018 - a new day and I'm adding a spring in my step to get things organized! Except, it's only 4am right now. I waited until 6 and headed to the Y. The pool was closed but I hit the trainer and weights. Spent the day trying to get situated and enjoying beautiful temps! And hey, big shout out to #BOOST for sending my brother (who can barely eat food and is surviving off of Boost shakes for nutrition) all these coupons!! BRAVO!!

Weds Feb 21, 2018 - another early morning to the gym. Still no pool, but I rowed it out, hit the trainer, and pumped some weights. Situation continues, working out bugs in the RV I'm staying in. Dinner w/April's fam and early to bed.

Thurs Feb 22, 2018 - ice ice baby!! Seriously there was ice everywhere. And Tuesday it was 70!! Ohio weather. I still knocked out a quick training session at the gym. Which included a 2,000 meter row. Hey!, when you can't swim 🙆🏻!

Later, Jamie and I brought Autumn (and Jake) for lunch with our dad. It was very pleasant and my big giant American salad was AmAzInG!! Spent the night with our grandparents and picked mom up from the airport way too late.

Fri Feb 23, 2018 - I just can't imagine being a person that doesn't work out at all. Because even these minimal workouts don't cut it for me. I feel lazy! I can't even fathom day after day after day of no physical fitness :O
Anyway, spent the morning with mom and Autumn at grandma's. Later, linked up with an athlete in Cincinnati for a 30min run/walk treadmill session, a strength sesh, and ab work. Followed by an awesome catch up with a military buddy.

Sat Feb 24, 2018 - not an entirely lazy day, we were pooped by the end. Shopping shopping shopping! w/mom and Alyssa.

Sun Feb 25, 2018 - David's birthday training day!! 2 mile swim, 45min bike (which was supposed to be 27 miles but we got kicked off the bikes), and 8 mile run (I ran 6.5, I got a little misplaced). It was so fun to be a part of a group again and training with friends. I envy this group of athletes that get to work out together all the time and have such a strong friendship. I miss that. BUT, not more than I love my Luca and our life together in Italy #sacrifice
