Ironman Italy ~ Race Week

I like to do 20 week training cycles. I think that's a reasonable amount of time to prepare for an endurance event at both an entry level and experienced. Often my races are so close together I don't have time in between for a full 20 weeks so I race, take a little bit of recovery time/maintenance, and then amp it back up + taper. No matter the training cycle, race week is always my favorite!! Short and sweet training sessions and the excitement and nervousness leading up to the grand finale...

Monday, Sept 18, 2017 - 25mins on the trainer as 5mins warm up, 5 x 2mins fast + 1min easy, 5mins cool down. 15min run as 5mins warm up, 5 x 1min fast, 5mins cool down. With nowhere to swim (pools all closed, stormy weather ^) I did a 20mins arm and ab workout.

Wednesday, Sept 20, 2017 - 40mins on the trainer (the bikes are cleaned and ready to be loaded; I couldn't dare take it outside!!). Feeling a little freaked that I haven't swam in... too long! My last two swims were solid though at 4000 and 1600 BUT...you know how I am about my swimming. A short run of 20mins and arm work.
