Ironman Italy Week 16

We are back in Italy!!

Monday, Aug 21, 2017 - one day of rest this week to get life reorganized and laundry done :O
We are going to have a heavy full weekend of training as this week and next will be our peak mileage for Ironman Italy. At this point I'm still unsure if I'll race or just support Luca... I'm going to continue training as if I'll race though.
REST

Tuesday, Aug 22, 2017 - hiking Cinque Terre with mom, Bob, and Emma. We walked and walked, hiked and hiked, climbed and climbed some more. Great day in beautiful Cinque Terre (3 of 5 lands complete).
HIKE

With parents in town, I'm realizing it's a bit more difficult to get my training in. EEEKK!

Wednesday, Aug 23, 2017 - took my parents to explore Pisa today. I had all intentions of getting that run in. DARN IT. I'm going to get my shit together...In the meantime, dinner with family and friends (Emma and Michelle).
EXPLORATION

Thursday, Aug 24, 2017 - because I'm determined to get my swim in and mom wants to check out Lerici, a big swim at Lerici today!! YAYYY!! With another big one on Saturday, I opted for 2,000 meters. Wore my wetsuit for first 1,000 but got too hot and took it off. I felt okay! I think it's enlightening that my weakness has truly become one of my strengths and I actually love swimming now. Probably a reflective post for later...
Anyway, game on for the weekend!!
SWIM

Friday, Aug 25, 2017 - up before the sun to take mom and Bob to the airport *sad face*. Even though this means, back to routine, it's still hard to say ciao ciao to my momma not knowing when our next adventure is *more sad face* Back at home, grabbed a 30min run for yesterday's missed run. With 3 hours to get tomorrow, I thought it best to keep it easy.
RUN

Saturday, Aug 26, 2017 - up at sunrise for a 3 hour run. I got 2 hours and 58 minutes. Almost 16 miles. Later, Luca and I went to Lerici to swim. I was just too pooped and only got 450 meters before enjoying my Van Gogh book in the sun while Luca swam. Then, GELATO!!

Sunday, Aug 27, 2017 - really working hard on getting Luca up to par for our Ironman, we set out early for an 80 mile ride (this will be my peak since I just did IM, he will get 100 miles next weekend. Although I will do a back to back 3 hours on Sat/Sun).
We hit 35 miles of big climbing and then 45 miles of flat and fast. I'll tell you what, happily, being on the bike that long was mentally and physically GREAT!! No hint of 'who the fuck are you Lisa' from Netherlands. I think this is a great sign and I'm saying it loud... Ironman Italy is happening :D :D :D
