Monday, Aug 4, 2025 - 20 days to race day!!

Shoot shoot shoot, my pool is closed from 4-11 Aug for maintenance. I completely forgot. I'm going to have to courage up for some solo lake swims. Today had a 30min KickR session (bike) and a core and stability session. I also went for a 45min cardio walk.

BIKE + Core + WALK

Tues, Aug 5 - 45mins run today, work, and all the house chores.

RUN

Weds, Aug 6 - why does this week feel so weird!? I only took a cardio walk with my friend Giulia. I skipped everything else. What is my problem!? I think I'm PMS'y a bit and feeling extra tired and extra aggravated. I don't even know WHY I skipped my training sessions...

WALK

Thurs, Aug 7 - to the lake to swim today 1,500 meters (with Luca - because I'm a chicken to go swim alone. And today marks Luca's first day of leave. Someone hide his phone so he can't check his email for the next month!)...

OW SWIM

Fri, Aug 8 - a planned rest day to go to Punta Ala to meet the G's and nipoti. A very unenjoyable 24 hours for me. The kids hate me, I'm always out of place, and starting my period, I just felt blah.

Sat, Aug 9 - up early for a Punta Ala run though. I grabbed my final long miles. 11'sih (2.5 hours). My watch completely died. Garmin 945 - I do NOT recommend. Luca's died last year and mine this. Both were only 3 or 4 years old. Bullshit. It's not just the battery...the screen starts taking in moisture and we get a ring of death. Within days, lights out. I used an old watch which is not synced and accidentally deleted the stats. Grr! Anyway, Punta Ala is hilly AF. A full day at the beach and we headed back to Rome... (thank goodness we were only there for 24 hours!)

RUN

Sun, Aug 10 - a later start than I wanted, set out for a 50 mile ride. I got 36 miles before the heat and traffic took over. I called it and finished on the trainer.
