If You Never Tri, You'll Never Know!

Easy Standard Pound Cake Recipe - Add Your Own Fruit!

IMG_20210802_201632

Note: this is a terrible bake - my blackberries sunk to the bottom. How to prevent this? Shake your fruit in a little bit of flour! Now I know *wink*. And then because of this, the cake stuck to the bottom of the pan - sticky fruit will do that! So shake the fruit in flour and your cake will be much prettier!

Ingredients:

1.5 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 tsp salt

1 tbs baking powder

1 stick butter (8 tbs or 1/2 cup) softened

1.25 cups sugar

2 eggs

1/2 cup milk

1/4 cup greek full fat yogurt

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 cups of your favorite fruit (as chunky or as diced as you want!) - you could probably add choc chips or pb chips too - or nuts - or anything really!

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 325°

Whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder in a bowl and set aside.

Cream the butter, sugar, and eggs with a mixer.

Add flour mix, milk, yogurt, and vanilla extract and mix well with mixer.

Gently fold in your fruit.

Pour in a 9x5 bread pan sprayed with coking oil.

Bake for 1 hour or until center is done.

Boom! A basic pound cake that is EASY, YUMMY, and so VERSATILE!
