Rainy and Cold and Joke's on us! Week 5 (of 20) Barcelona 70.3

Guys, it's almost February. Can you even believe it? Already anxious for the summer, I dislike how fast time goes. Just slipping behind us, waiting for no one, nondiscriminatory. Sigh...
But I don't want to be sad!! I want to be happy and excited and enjoy every breathe of life I've been given!! Because, as we know, how quickly it can be taken away (insert another "sigh" but not an unhappy sigh, more like a, let's do this shit kind of sigh!). And off we go...

And, so, but, first I want to share a new organization that I'm super digging. FundHerTri.org.
A Zoot teammate Lynn founded the nonprofit organization to help raise funds for women entering triathlon. Helping to make triathlon more accessible for women and girls, we are all dedicated to growing our sport! I designed their logo (do you LOVE it!?!?) and I'm offering a special training program offer for the gals that apply with them. So, that's exciting!!

Next, our 52 Weeks of Us challenge is silly this week! We have committed to telling each other a joke every day for the week. Oh good grief :O

Monday, Jan 28, 2019 - since I got word that Monday's between 11:30am and 1pm rock at the pool, I've moved my Tuesday swims to Monday. And cheers to that, it mostly rocked!! I started in a lane with 3 older guys. Two were actually swimming and one just kinda playing at the ends. They finished and a woman joined me. It was perfect. We were pretty much on opposite ends even though she was backstroking and kicking. But she was easily passable. Then a dude joined us and ruined it all.
He had these enormous diving fins on and mister speedy McPasser was being a real cock sucker.
He even kicked the shit out of me as if he owned the lane and I was in his way.

I'm telling you, I could organize that pool so much better than they do(n't) GRRRR!
Fin kicking assholes go in lane 4, old men backstroking go in lane 3, old women kicking lane 2, and those of you who are actually swimming laps, proceed to lane 1. Boom. All problems solved.

Luckily right after he kicked me and feeling came back into my wrist/hand, I noticed the lane next to me was empty, so I dove in and grabbed another 300 (SOLO!!!) before the Monday water aerobics gals arrived. 2,400 meters for the day with a 3 mile run just before.

Wednesday, Jan 30, 2019 - it's raining, it's pouring and I'm... annoyed. Had an 8 mile run scheduled that will be delayed... Jumped on the trainer for 35mins to get my blood flowing for work...

Thursday, Jan 31, 2019 - another rainy day...GRRR! Got in 3 miles before the ice sprinkles started coming. It's off and on all day and cold cold cold. Worked my day away and had a clearing around 15:30 so shot out for 3 more miles. Phone died though so I returned home for a quick charge. I might get my 8 miles after all...
RUN 8 miles

Friday, Feb 1, 2019 - Happy February 1st! The month of love. The month of kindness. It's black history month, Mardi Gras month, and sadly, the month my brother would have turned 43 years old. It's been 10 months since he died. It's been heart wrenching. I'm going to talk about that later though! Grabbed a swim with my love this morning - 1,600 meters. My right shoulder felt... off.
p.s. more rain today.
SWIM 1600m

Saturday, Feb 2, 2019 - good, happy morning with my love, our Jake, and Penny! We're keeping Penny for the night for Danielle. We all got some a.m. work and play done and headed to Livorno for lunch. American lunch! I'm talking mozzarella sticks, onion rings, and burgers kind of American lunch. Was awesome. A rainy day left us with little exploration and we missed the pups so we hurried home. But we took some beautiful photos by the sea!
