If You Never Tri, You'll Never Know!

Pumpkin Bourbon Hot Chocolate

Untitled

Okay my friends, I took Hot Chocolate to the next level!!

Last November (2016) Luca and I went to Chattanooga, TN to explore. While in the mountains we wanted both hot chocolate and bourbon so we mixed them! And it was GREAT! So it's kind of become our hiking/cold/sweet alcoholic treat.

Well, you know us white girls, we love our pumpkin and finding pumpkin puree, I went CrAzY!! Seriously I have made pumpkin bread, pumpkin oatmeal cookies, pumpkin sugar cookies, pumpkin dump cake is to come, and now THIS!...

PUMPKIN BOURBON HOT CHOCOLATE
*Okay, remember, I'm 'a little bit of this, a little bit of that' kinda chef so bear with me...
*Don't judge my mugs, I break all glasses and only have one fancy glass mug left. Grrr.

Ingredients:
2.5 cups of milk (I use lactose free and it works just great!! I imagine you could use almond milk or whatever flavor flave you desire)
5 (ish) tablespoons of pumpkin puree
sprinkle sprinkle sprinkle All Spice
sprinkle sprinkle sprinkle Pumpkin Pie Spice
sprinkle Ginger
sprinkle Nutmeg
1 tsp (ish) vanilla
2 packets of Dark Hot Chocolate (the add milk kind, not the add water kind) (I guess it doesn't have to be dark either. But dark is better!)
4 ounces (ish. I say ounces because I don't think glugs are actual measurements) of Bourbon (please don't use Jim Beam. Not that I don't love me some Jim Beam, but pumpkin bourbon hot chocolate deserves a shelf or two up. We used Four Roses).
some whip cream or marshmallows

Make It:
Heat your milk until it's almost boiling. Milk can overcook fast, so watch it.
Stir in pumpkin puree. Lower heat.
Sprinkle all those spices, keep stirring.
Add your vanilla, add your hot chocolate packets, keep stirring.
When it's all mixed, take it off the fire and stir in your bourbon.

Top it with a marshmallow (roast it a bit for picture purposes ??) or whip cream. I found some in a can!! Woohoo!!! I caught Luca ~doing what I thought, whip it's~ but realized he was just eating it out of the can.

There you have it!! CHEERS!!
